Working With Folders
Creating Folders:
To create
folders, you must first determine where the folder is to reside. In this
instruction "My Documents" will be the top-level directory (folder). To
access My Documents you can use several options, thee most obvious is if there is already a "My Documents" folder on your desktop, if not! The first is going to
Start>Program Files>Windows Explorer. The second is going to "My Computer"
and selecting Local Disc (C:), from there, select the "My Documents"
folder. Once "My Documents" is opened, select File>New>Folder. Name the
folder and click enter.
Renaming Folders: If you
have created a folder and wish to rename it. Right Click the folder and
select "Rename". Type in the new name and click enter.
Deleting Folders: To delete
any folder. Right click the folder and select "Delete".
Time Saving Tips: It is very important that
you prepare your folders, documents and applications before starting any
of the above procedures. This will not only save you time, but it will
also keep your files and folders organized.
Think a project out first; write down on a
piece of paper what you want to do from start to finish. Once you have
thought out your desired intentions, create the folders and files needed
to be more efficient. Open all applications needed when you are ready to
begin. This will allow you to toggle from application to application,
allowing you to be very efficient and organized.
